Recently, I traveled to Chicago to take engagement photos for some friends of mine. We found several interesting places, ranging from the beach where John proposed to the middle of Michigan Avenue downtown. Here’s a few from our half-day session.

So, I’m going to hop on this soap box for just a minute or two. What’s the point of having a blog, even a rarely used blog such as mine, if you aren’t going to use it for a soap box now and then?

A little while back, I worked with a friend to produce visuals for a story about Vinaigrette, a new specialty oil and vinegar store in Minneapolis. Read Jason’s story and see the rest of the photos featured at The Heavy Table here.

The other week I was able to help out with a fun event that got children exercising and gave them a chance to meet a few Minnesota Vikings players. The event was the Hometown Huddle, hosted by the Greater Twin Cities United Way. The event took place at Vikings player E.J. Henderson’s GameSpeed Sports Academy. After they were done working through the training stations, the children and players created a hand-print mural on the wall.

Here’s a quick detail shot that I took of the BMW emblem on the hood of a brand new model on display in downtown Minneapolis at an event I was photographing.

Last night I attended the Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Awards with my lovely and talented wife Amanda. The long wait through the program was well worth it when my wife and her coworkers at KSTP-TV were announced as the winners in the category of Best Newscast- Daytime (markets 1-20). They earned the award for their morning show coverage of the 35W bridge collapse anniversary.

I was fortunate enough to be able to cover the opening game at TCF Bank Stadium as the Gophers took on Air Force. My assignment was more about the opening of the stadium than the game itself. Here’s a look at a few extra photos I shot that were not needed by my client.
